We are happy to announce that GVAHA will begin practices in its normal schedule beginning with Learn to Skate, Fundamentals, Learn to Play,  Cross-Ice and Mites on Saturday, January 16.  Other teams will also resume their normal practice schedules as of Monday, January 18.  We encourage you to stay in contact and watch your team communications for updates from coaches.

Please remember, masks are required in the rink and on the ice at all times.

The GVAHA board will continue to monitor the situation by looking at state mandated guidelines as well as Michigan Amateur Hockey Association (MAHA) and USA hockey and update you as we have different or additional information.

Please visit our Safe Start Page https://www.gvaha.org/about-us/safe-start/ for the latest MAHA update.

We understand that is is disappointing to not begin games at this time but we think this is a great opportunity for our STARS to get back on the ice and prepare for the remainder of the season.  Thank you for your support and flexibility and we look forward to seeing everyone at the rink! Stay safe.

A note from our hockey directors...…

Hello Coaches and Parents!
Although we (as an association) have plenty of questions about the rules of "opening up again" we do know we may proceed with some normality and that is GREAT news.
Be patient, we all want to get back to the "old normal" as soon as possible, but we also have to have protocols and standards in place. Sports always have been a haven for people working together for a common goal, that's what we need here now. So let's keep moving forward, one cautious, respectful step at time.
Welcome back to HOCKEY EVERYONE!
Thank you for your continued support. Stay healthy.

What Parents Have to Say

"I’m extremely impressed with our first year of experience with GV Stars. Wow! The enthusiasm falls from the top down! My son has never excelled in a sport, and usually wants to skip practices after mid season...but he loves hockey and wants to do it more and more! I believe it’s the positive attitudes of the coaches and the structure of the program that makes him feel successful and excited to play!"

"The coaches at GVAHA are doing it RIGHT and we love it there."
First of all, let me thank you and your coaches for the hard work you have all put in again this year! It has been a pleasure to watch these kids grow and get better while having fun! Bravo!
On a personal note, keeping our son in Mites was absolutely the best decision. The puck is on his stuck so much that he has gained confidence immensely in his game.  Let me be a testament for you to other parents pondering moving up if they are on the fence. I left the decision 100% up to you're guidance was spot on!
