About GVAHA HOCKEY

The Grand Valley Amateur Hockey Association (GVAHA) is a non-profit, volunteer organization that provides hockey programs in West Michigan primarily Georgetown Township and surrounding communities. Players from Hudsonville, Jenison, Grandville, Wyoming, Byron Center, Zeeland, Holland, Grand Haven and Allendale.

Together with the staff of the Georgetown Ice Center, GVAHA provides hockey opportunities for all ages.

Beginners

Georgetown Ice Center provides instructional classes for all beginner youth skaters. Classes are on Saturdays and run September - March.
  • Learn to Skate (Ages 4+)
  • Intro to Hockey (Ages 4-9)
  • Cross-Ice (the 3rd step to becoming a hockey player)

GVAHA STARS

GVAHA provides team hockey opportunities at the following divisions:

U8 (Mites Ages 7-8)

U10 (Squirts Ages 9-10)

U12 (PeeWee Ages 11-12)

U14 (Bantam ages 12-14)

U16 (Midget ages 15-16)

U18 (Midget ages 16-18)

 

Players must meet the age requirement for each division by January 1st. For more information on age classifications - view our guide to age classifications
